Feed the Birds

An obvious yet sometimes overlooked step is to feed the birds, yes some friends have asked me why they don’t see the same kind of birds in their garden, my first response is what do you feed them and they say they don’t!
Don’t have anything why not get yourself a few bird feeders there are plenty of great options out there to buy bird feeders.

Remember though don’t be disheartened if you don’t see birds arriving straight away, be patient and they will start coming they are creatures of habit so it will take time for them to find the tasty feast you have laid out for them.

Not Too Close, Not Too Far

You want to make sure your feeders are not too far from trees or hedges so the birds can swoop down quickly but also not too close either so that Ginger tom cat can hide in them and pounce while they are having a nibble.

Choose The Right Food

It is important to choose the right food for your garden, no point in putting food which is best suited for Robins if Blue tits are more common in your area. Try to identify the birds in your garden and local area that way you can ensure you’re not wasting time and money putting out the wrong type of food.

Keep Bird Feeders, Baths and Tables Clean

It is very essential to keep bird tables and feeders clean, birds can quickly catch diseases from each other so by keeping your feeders, baths and tables clean you will help stop any unnecessary contamination.

Birds Drink Too

Birds do love a free meal, they will come and feast on the offerings you have left out for them but don’t forget the water, birds drink too you know. Also, they love to have a bath it helps them keep their feathers in great shape.
